Are you obliged to give way to the tram driver in this situation? — Tesakan

Are you obliged to give way to the tram driver in this situation?

Because the main green light and the green arrow of the additional section let you both move at the same time, the tram has the advantage regardless of its direction.

In your direction the main green signal is on, with a straight-and-left outline arrow (green with a straight-and-left outline arrow), and for the tram the green right arrow of the additional section is on (additional section: green right arrow). The black outline arrow on the main green is not an additional section: it tells you that there is an additional section and shows the other permitted directions, straight and left (clause 10). What matters is that right now both your signal and the tram's are permitting signals. Under the Rules, when traffic light signals permit trams and non-rail vehicles to move at the same time, the tram has the advantage regardless of its direction (clause 92). Therefore, you must give way to the tram turning right.

Option 1. The tram has the advantage over you because you are both allowed to move at the same time, so you cannot go first.
