Privacy Policy
Last updated:
Tesakan is a free study aid for the Republic of Armenia driving-theory exam, available as a web app and a Telegram bot. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Tesakan is an independent project and is not affiliated with the Police of the Republic of Armenia or any government body.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you first open Tesakan we automatically create an anonymous guest account, identified only by a randomly generated id and holding no name, email or other personal detail, so you can start studying right away and pick up where you left off when you return. If you sign in with a provider — Telegram, Google or Apple — we receive the basic profile you share with it (such as your name, username, email and language) and attach it to your account.
- Study activity. Quizzes you take, the answers you give, questions you pin, your progress and your in-app settings, so we can save and resume your learning across sessions and devices.
- Messages to us. What you write to us in the chat and the photos you send with it, so we can answer you.
- Technical data. Your IP address, browser/device information (user agent) and session activity, used to operate and secure the service.
- Cookies. A small set of functional cookies — a sign-in/session token and your language, theme and color preferences. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
How we use it
To provide the service, remember your progress, keep your account secure, prevent abuse, and improve the questions, explanations and user experience. We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising.
Sharing
We share data only with the infrastructure providers needed to run Tesakan (for example hosting and storage), and with Telegram when you choose to sign in with it. These providers process data on our behalf and only as needed to operate the service. What you send us in the chat, photos included, also goes to a third-party AI service that helps us answer; it never gets your name or contact details.
Retention & your rights
We keep your data while your account is active. Anonymous guest accounts that are never used to study and stay inactive for over 30 days are automatically deleted. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and associated data, or ask for an export of your data. If you started as a guest and later sign in, your guest progress is automatically combined into your account so nothing is lost.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and access is restricted. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy; we will revise the “last updated” date above when we do. For any questions about your data or this policy, contact the project maintainer.
